Welcome to R & L Mold Inspection services.

R & L Mold Inspection provides an independent professional residential mold and air quality inspection that is thorough, unbiased, detailed and confidential. We are not affiliated with any remediation company so you can be assured that your home and well being is our first and only concern.

A mold inspection is a non-invasive visual examination of a building to identify and report on conditions that may have led to moisture intrusion, water damage, and conditions conducive to microbial growth or actual microbial growth. If such conditions are present R & L Mold Inspection will take samples and send them to the laboratory for analysis.

Investigating hidden mold problems can be difficult and will require caution when the investigation involves disturbing potential sites of mold growth. For example, removal of wall paper can lead to a massive release of spores if there is mold growing on the underside of the paper. If you believe you may have a hidden mold problem, consider hiring an experienced professional.

A good rule of thumb is "If you can't see it, but smell it - You need a mold inspection".

People with asthma, allergies, breathing conditions or immune suppression (such as cancer patients, organ transplant recipients, HIV) may be more sensitive to mold and mold infections.

The term "toxic mold" is not accurate. While certain molds are toxigenic, meaning they can produce toxins, the molds themselves are not toxic. Black mold is just a colour, many molds are black, and other molds that produce mycotoxins are other colours.

Why you should call for a mold and air quality evaluation

  1. Many people are adversely affected by Mold…and in many cases this is hidden and not easily seen.
  2. An inspection will evaluate your environment for sources of moisture and humidity, sometimes not easily detected without the proper equipment, and recommend ways to lower these which decreases the chance for further mold growth.
  3. An inspection and air testing can confirm the presence of elevated levels of mold spores which can be the cause of many health problems. This can be used to identify certain areas that need attention and further remediation.
  4. Should elevated levels be determined, these results can be used as a baseline for further testing after remediation and cleaning has been done to confirm a positive result.
  5. Information can be used in conjunction with your health care provider to formulate a plan for better health. Certain allergies can be lowered using specialized air filtration systems.
  6. Save your investment! Molds function is to breakdown organic matter (like a composter) the problem comes when that organic matter is your home. Damage by water intrusion and mold can rot away your home and invite insects along to help.
